71. GREAT ACTORS TRY NOT TO CRY, BAD ACTORS CRY & LIE

The Art of Experiencing, as the Craft of Acting is known, and the actors who understand and live that, also understsnd that the opposite of crying is true, if you really understand acting at the level of creating humane characters. In life as in art when someone cries they usually try to stop it, wipe the tears, that real human behavior is the example great actors use in their craft. When the opposite happens and you see actors cry without wiping the tears, that is when you see bad actors pretending or lying, the opposite of what great Acting requires. Those pretenders when associated with Acting is what drives me crazy. Associating lying greatly with great acting and deserving of an Oscar, is just not so!  I feel I have to explain why it is not true. In acting great actors are experiencing real living in the given circumstances, and that is so diffcult to do, it requires so much work and training, so when we the audience watch such great actors, we believe them, we identify with them, we feel for them. To do that, the work of the soul those actors must do should not be mistaken for the other so called actors, who are just that and never transform into the characters, they remain actors acting.
